While Kourtney and Disick's relationship ended during this episode, another one was blossoming: momager Kris Jenner, 59, and her 30something boyfriend Corey Gamble.
As the episode opened, Kris was away on the vacation she decided to take at the end of last week's episode after struggling with her ex-spouse Caitlyn Jenner's Vanity Fair article.
Kris FaceTimed her daughter Khloé Kardashian from her trip and revealed that she had invited Gamble to join her for the last week of her vacation.
Khloé then filled in Kourtney, 36, and Disick, 32 (who were still together in Los Angeles at this point), about Kris and Gamble's relationship, and all three agreed that Gamble is nice and treats Kris well (plus, Disick made the tasteless joke that "there's a really good chance [Gamble] isn't going to turn into a woman either.")
Khloé, meanwhile, was still reeling with anger from Caitlyn's VF article. While hanging out with sister Kim Kardashian West, 34, she told her that she "doesn't know this person anymore" in reference to Caitlyn, formerly known as Bruce.
"Bruce is gone, and I don't know Caitlyn," Khloé said, adding that Caitlyn and Bruce have "polar opposite" personalities. "Can I see Bruce for a second? 'Cause I don't know who this person is. … It's not a real relationship anymore."
Kim advised that Khloé should sit down with Caitlyn, 65, and talk out their issues, and later in the episode, her sister took her suggestion.
After a tense conversation (that was also shown on Caitlyn's I Am Cait docu-series this summer), the two eventually seemed to work things out and made up.
Khloé also sat down for a talk with Gamble in an effort to get to know him better since his relationship with her mother was getting quite serious, with Kris bringing him to family affairs including Kylie Jenner's move-in day into her $2.7 million mansion – and even admitting that the two say "I love you" to each other.
After grilling him with her BFF Malika Haqq, Khloé eventually decided that Gamble, who only wants to bring Kris "genuine happiness," is a good guy.
Meanwhile, Disick was back to his partying ways as he made a club appearances. While Kourtney joined him during one appearance in Las Vegas, Disick later returned to Vegas for another booking without Kourtney.
"Kourtney is not thrilled," Disick said in an on-camera interview.
While he was in Vegas, Kourtney was back in Los Angeles taking calls from his friends who were updating her on his whereabouts and how he was doing.
During one lunch with Kim and Khloé, Kourtney was on the phone hearing about Disick's troubling behavior, including trying to nab a private plane to Anguilla and losing his wallet.
Kim was clearly upset while watching her sister on the phone and said during an on-camera interview that Kourtney was "always cleaning up his messes."
Kim later visited Kourtney at home and told her that she had decided that she would not be moving forward with plans to include Disick in her video game app since she was "not proud of his actions lately."
Kourtney then found out that Disick was in France with a friend of his.
"Scott will be amazing for three months then go out of town and go off the deep end," Kourtney said during an on-camera interview. "I don't know if that's a pattern I can continue with."
Later, Kim is at home with mom Kris when she got a frantic call from one of her cousins flagging the pictures that surfaced in July of Disick cozying up to another woman in Monte Carlo.
Kris was furious as she scrolled through the pictures, calling Disick a "piece of s---".
"It's disrespectful," Kris said in an on-camera interview. "I think I've often made excuses for Scott and it's just getting tougher and tougher."
Kourtney, meanwhile, continued to receive calls from Disick's friends about his increasingly wild behavior.
When she updated her mom and Kim about Disick, the conversation touched on rehab and jail and Kris said jail time might be just the wake-up call Disick needed. (Disick and Kourtney's relationship has been strained by his drinking in the past, and the troubled reality star went to rehab for a short period earlier this year.)
While Kourtney's immediate reaction to the photos was not shown on the show, she sat finally broke down during a conversation with Kim at the end of the episode.
"I'm literally on the verge of a mental breakdown," an emotional Kourtney told her sister. "I can't believe that this is where my life is at right now. I've worked so hard to keep this family together, it just makes me sad for the kids."
As difficult as it was, Kourtney admitted that she was "better off" without Disick – something Kim fully agreed with.
"He's not being a good partner to me. I could never rely on him, depend on him for one single thing and I don't want to show my kids that that's okay."
At that exact moment, Kourtney's oldest child, 5-year-old Mason, walked into the room and Kim quickly whisked him away so he would not see his mother crying as a montage of Kourtney and Disick's long-term relationship – much of which was captured on KUWTK – began to play.
"I love Scott, but I've been dealing with this for so long, it's definitely not good for me. At this point I'm really just trying to focus on me and the kids and make them the priority," Kourtney said in an on-camera interview before several troubling clips of Disick over the years played out.
After Kim returned to the room without Mason, Kourtney said that while Disick will always be her family, she "can't do it anymore."
"My mind is completely made up," she told her sister. "I know that him just staying here, nothing would change."
When Kim asked if that meant the two would be breaking up, Kourtney confirmed that she had already ended things with Disick.
"You're doing the right thing," Kim said.
"I need it to be done," Kourtney replied.
Kourtney and Disick have not gotten back together since the episode was filmed, and Disick continues to party in New York City and Miami.
