  Speaking of Hull, Tom Huddlestone spoke to the media last night and revealed he is already plotting a move into management when his career comes to an end.

  Clearly a man who likes to plan ahead, the 27-year-old took his UEFA B licence in the summer and is half way through his A badge.

  "Hopefully I've still got a few years left playing but it's better to have it," he said. "It's something I would like to do in the future and I didn't have much planned in the summer, so it was ideal to get it started."

  "It's easier to get the badges while you're still playing, rather than be out of the game for four or five years and suddenly decide you want to get them because a few of your ideas might have been lost."

  Gerrard casts doubt on Liverpool future

  There is a big Steven Gerrard, with the midfielder admitting he might be forced to leave Liverpool.

  A player as synonymous with Anfield as beans are with toast, Gerrard is out of contract at the end of the season and is yet to be offered a new deal.

  "I certainly won't be retiring this summer. I will play beyond this season," said the 34-year-old, who joined the Liverpool Academy at the age of nine and has made nearly 700 appearances for the club.

  "We will have to wait and see if that's at Liverpool or somewhere else. That's Liverpool's decision. If they don't come then I will see what's out there."

  'Yaya Toure looks bored' - Scholes

  Some interesting stuff from Paul Scholes in his weekly column for The Independent.

  Ahead of Sunday's Manchester derby, Scholes says he like Man City but has concerns about a certain area of their team.

  "I don't think the central midfield is right, and that they are getting the best out of Yaya Toure," he wrote.

  "He still looks laboured to me, you might even say he looks a bit bored. He has the ability to step it up when he wants to, and that could be the case on Sunday.

  "My view is that the better midfield partner for him is Fernandinho rather than Fernando. Fernandinho just seems to have more to his game."

  Celtic winger's ban for racial abuse

  Some news you might have missed from last night. Celtic winger Aleksandar Tonev has been banned for seven matches for racially abusing Aberdeen defender Shay Logan.

  The 24-year-old, on loan from Premier League side Aston Villa, was charged following an incident with Englishman Logan during a Scottish Premiership match in September.

  Celtic say they will appeal against the punishment, saying the Bulgarian is "not a racist" and the club "absolutely abhors racism of any kind".
